Home → Leaders includes Legislative Activity Reports — AI-generated summaries of recent federal legislation your U.S. senators and representative sponsored or cosponsored, scoped to your civic area.

What you see

Under Your Federal Representatives, each federal legislator card shows their name, photo, and chamber. When a report is ready, the card includes a View activity report · {period} link (for example, View activity report · Jan 3rd - 16th). Tap it to open the Biweekly Legislative Activity Report dialog for that legislator.

The {period} label is a Friday-to-Friday two-week reporting window. Legislators in your list share the same period dates for a given release.

Tap the info icon beside the Your Federal Representatives heading (not inside each report dialog) to view the AI prompt Symthink uses to summarize legislation.

Eligibility

Legislative Activity Reports appear only when:

  • You have a civic area with state-level geography in your profile, and
  • Symthink can resolve federal representatives (two senators and your House member) for that state/district.

If you are not eligible, the Leaders tab explains that you need to add your state and congressional district in your civic profile.

Refresh cadence

  • Reports refresh on a bi-weekly schedule, delivered on Mondays.
  • Each report covers the previous two legislative weeks (Friday through Friday).
  • A nightly maintenance job also retries legislators whose reports failed to generate.

When you first open Leaders and are eligible but have no reports yet, Symthink may trigger a one-time on-demand refresh (rate-limited to once per 24 hours). Cards show a pulsing "Generating…" state until reports arrive.

Failed reports and retries

If Congress.gov or the AI summarizer fails for a legislator, you may see a placeholder card with a short failure message instead of a full report. Symthink retries failed legislators automatically on subsequent batch runs (up to three attempts).
