Open forums

Open forums let a published leader collect anonymous suggestions on a specific Question for a limited time (1–7 days). Symthink groups submissions into a synthesis summary. Participants can sign up to follow the forum on Home → Following → Open Forums.

For leaders

Starting a forum

  1. Publish your Vision and open your Shared Vision (Dashboard → Sharing or a public link).
  2. Navigate to a Question node (not the Vision root).
  3. Open the speed-dial menu (lower right) and choose Start open forum.
  4. Set the duration and confirm. Symthink creates a public listening link and QR code.

Limits:

  • Forums run on Question nodes only.
  • You can have up to 3 open forums at a time.
  • You cannot start a forum from My Vision — use your published Shared Vision.

Managing forums

Open Dashboard → My Forums to see open and closed sessions. Tap a session to open its leader dashboard (submission counts, synthesis progress, and Close session early).

When you have open forums, My Forums also offers Flyer with all questions (printable links and QR codes).

After a forum closes

When a session ends (scheduled close or early close):

  • If there were at least 5 submissions, Symthink runs AI synthesis and promotes category nodes into your Suggestions bin on My Vision.
  • If there were fewer than 5 submissions, the forum closes quietly with no synthesis.

Review Suggestions on My Vision (toolbar badge when items are waiting). Accept or reject each synthesized idea to add it to your tree. Items from open forums show an Open forum badge.

For participants

  1. Open the leader's listening link or scan their QR code.
  2. Submit a suggestion (anonymous; protected by Turnstile).
  3. After submitting, sign up or log in to follow the forum.
  4. The forum appears under Open Forums on Home → Following.

While synthesis is pending, a progress chip may show on the row (for example, 3 of 5 for first summary). When the summary is ready, open the overflow menu (⋮) and choose View summary.
